My garage door opener could only open the door a foot or so before it gave up. He was quick to diagnose AND fix the issue. Rates were as expected for the repair and region. Matt F.15 August 2026Our garage door was acting up, closing and opening super slow. I called Garage Door Basics Thursday afternoon and they set me up with an appointment for the very next day. They were quick and right on time. As soon as the technician got here, he spotted the problem in under 2 minutes. Turns out our garage door springs snapped, making it tough for the motor to open and close the door. Dave was super nice and even helped me program our clickers and our app to open and close the garage door. He didn't waste any time getting everything done. He even gave me some garage 101 tips. About a year later, when my opener needed adjustment, he was able to come the same day to make the adjustments free of charge. It’s great to have a reliable, local garage door repair company that is 100% dedicated to great service and building long-term relationships with customers. He is very professional and very knowledgeable and not only able to diagnose the problems right away, but does a great job fixing whatever the problem is. He will sometimes even try to help me fix the problem over the phone. I really appreciated how quickly they responded. The technician was on time and responsive. He took the time to explain what caused the problem, walked me through the repair, and answered all of my questions. They were honest about what actually needed to be fixed and didn't try to upsell me on anything unnecessary. Everything was repaired properly, and my garage door is working perfectly again. Their pricing was fair, the service was professional, the work was great, and the technician was friendly and easy to work with. Regina Lim1 July 2026I have used Garage Door Basics to replace my garage door springs two times. Both times, service was great. This time I had an offer of complimentary garage maintenance service. Called the office, I was able to be scheduled same day. Technician Jacob came, he was on time, courteous and very thorough with checking every nuts and bolts, lubricating areas as needed. Prior to maintenance, the garage door opening was getting a little loud. After the maintenance, the garage door is almost silent in opening and closing. Excellent job!! val k29 June 2026We had been having issues with our garage door for some time and our DIY fixes weren’t cutting it anymore. We contacted Garage Door Basics and they were able to send Jacob out very quickly to check out our door and help us diagnose the problem. We really appreciated Jacob’s patient and down to earth style. He was very detail oriented and took his time checking out all the different parts of the door and explaining what he was doing to us. He never tried to upsell us on anything. In the end, he thought the motor was probably dying — which we had also suspected! — and offered a quote for a professional replacement/installation. We talked it over and decided to just go ahead and do it, since we felt confident Jacob would do a good job, and Garage Door Basics was able to schedule the appointment for us super fast. Jacob was very thorough- and by discovering the lack of a backup battery in the opener - that really solved the main issue of us not being able to get in the garage when the power is out. Adjusted everything . The technician told me the previous installer installed the cable backwards on the handle and that's why it was hard to open . I asked him how much to reinstall it . He said no charge I take care of it. They are really reliable and their prices are really good. I used them in the past for minor repairs. He also educated me to show me how to tell if my garage door springs were in good shape (which they were). He said his lead tech Jacob would be in our area within the hour which blew my mind. I was not expecting us to resolve our garage door issues that same day, let alone the same hour. Jacob showed up, super polite, and ready to go to work. I explained to him the issue we were having. He and I did a little troubleshooting and determined that our garage door had lost its programming, most likely due to a recent power outage. He was able to dial us back in within a few minutes and said there would be no charge. Who does that anymore?! Contacted GDB and Dave explained to me what the error codes were on my Liftmaster garage door opener. His pointers and a bit of YouTube and my garage door was fixed. No estimate needed, no spent money, and awesome customer service. If I really need someone to come in and check my garage, I'm calling Dave and GDB. mary r.25 February 2026Due to the recent fires our Garage Door motor was not working properly. GDB was referred to us thru neighbors. Dave responded quickly to my text and came by to assess and see if it was repairable. Unfortunately we needed a new motor. Dave quickly gave me a quote and was able to install it the next day. When Dave and his apprentice Jacob arrived they went straight to work. Jacob was very quick, quite and efficient at removing my old motor and installing the new one. Dave was great at fine tuning, programming and doing some required maintenance on my garage door. They were both very helpful at programming our phones, door and car buttons. The new unit has a warranty and Dave explained to reach out to him if we have any questions or if we're having any issues. He said Garage Door Basics stands behind all their products sold and installations.. Another company put on the wrong springs causing the door to be too heavy for the motor. Dave told me the correct springs and that he could fix the whole in the door. The original company changed the springs but could not fix the whole. Dave fixed the whole and replaced a warn out motor all for a reasonable price. Great service and experience.
